Responsibilities include
- Assisting engineers with the design and analysis of structural systems, including building foundations, equipment supports, and other structural components
- Performing engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
- Preparing and updating drawings, technical documentation, and project deliverables
- Utilizing structural analysis and design software such as Visual Analysis, RISA, TEDDS, and ENERCALC
- Reviewing submittals and assisting with quality control activities
- Collaborating with structural engineers, design technicians, surveyors, mechanical and process engineers, project managers, and other project team members
- May visit project sites to observe construction progress, perform site-related tasks, and support project execution in accordance with contract documents
- May participate in client meetings and assist with client communication related to specific projects
- Developing technical skills with mentorship and guidance from senior engineers
- Performing other duties as assigned
The successful candidate must have
- Completed at least four semesters of college-level coursework in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
The preferred candidate will have
Previous industrial internship experience
Familiarity with Visual Analysis and/or RISA
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong enthusiasm for learning and professional development
Eagerness to grow technical and project‑based skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to seek feedback

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
