Position Overview

LAPORTE is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to integrate structural solutions into industrial projects.

The role contributes to design, implementation, coordination, client interaction, and support of multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design industrial buildings, foundations, mezzanines, platforms, and equipment supports.
  • Prepare calculations, specifications, plans, and reports and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide site coordination, inspections, and work monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in client, contractor, and partner meetings.
  • Supervise and support less experienced engineers and professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Membership in Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) required.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience, ideally in industrial or steel structure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and construction codes and standards.
  • Ability to lead projects from design to completion and communicate effectively.
  • OIQ membership, French and English bilingualism, and structural design software experience are assets.
