Position Overview
LAPORTE is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to integrate structural solutions into industrial projects.
The role contributes to design, implementation, coordination, client interaction, and support of multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and design industrial buildings, foundations, mezzanines, platforms, and equipment supports.
- Prepare calculations, specifications, plans, and reports and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Provide site coordination, inspections, and work monitoring.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in client, contractor, and partner meetings.
- Supervise and support less experienced engineers and professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Membership in Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) required.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, ideally in industrial or steel structure projects.
- Excellent knowledge of design and construction codes and standards.
- Ability to lead projects from design to completion and communicate effectively.
- OIQ membership, French and English bilingualism, and structural design software experience are assets.
