Structural Engineer, Design (Rail/Metro)

Role Overview

Key Duties

• Provide structural engineering design oversight across multiple railway projects.
• Review consultant deliverables for completeness, accuracy, coordination, and compliance.
• Monitor design development for stations, viaducts, bridges, depots, retaining walls, and associated infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, international codes, local regulations, and authority standards.
• Coordinate structural works with civil, architectural, geotechnical, MEP, systems, and construction requirements.
• Support design assurance, technical governance, and engineering review processes.
• Identify design risks, technical gaps, and interface issues and support timely resolution.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, technical meetings, and progress reviews.
• Provide input on constructability, value engineering, and design optimization.
• Review technical queries, design changes, and engineering proposals.
• Evaluate structural design alternatives and support technical decisions.
• Prepare technical comments, review reports, memoranda, and presentations.

Required Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15 years of structural engineering design and design review experience.
• Strong structural engineering design consultancy background.
• Extensive railway and/or metro project experience is mandatory.
• Experience on major transportation infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders and interfaces.
• Gulf and/or Saudi Arabia experience is required.
• Strong understanding of structural design standards, engineering coordination, and technical review processes.
• Ability to assess technical proposals, identify risks, and resolve complex structural issues.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Client, PMC, or similar project oversight experience is an advantage.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
• Professional registration or chartership is preferred.
