Structural Engineer (Contract)

Location

• Motherwell (Hybrid Working) Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35) Duration: Initial 6 months, with potential extension Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance

As demand continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Contract Structural Engineer to support the delivery of complex building projects from our Motherwell office.
• This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on engineer who can quickly integrate into project teams, take ownership of structural design packages, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions with minimal supervision.
• Key responsibilities include:
• Producing and reviewing structural calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Delivering structural design solutions for steel, concrete and masonry structures.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Supporting project delivery from concept through detailed design.
• Managing your own workload and taking responsibility for delivering agreed outputs.
• Contributing technical expertise across multiple concurrent projects.
• Supporting design reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• You'll ideally have:
• Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (Structural bias).
• Proven UK project experience within building structures.
• Strong structural analysis and design capability.
• Experience working on commercial, industrial, defence, power, public sector or other complex infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work independently and deliver technical solutions
• Good knowledge of current UK design codes and standards.
• Experience using structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, Robot or similar.
• Candidates with primarily residential housing design experience are unlikely to be a suitable fit due to the complexity and nature of the projects undertaken by the team.
