Job Purpose
Analyse, design, verify, and coordinate structural steel projects in accordance with engineering standards, project specifications, and UAE authority requirements.
Prepare structural calculations, member sizing, connection designs, technical coordination, authority submissions, and support for fabrication and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design steel structures including warehouses, industrial buildings, mezzanines, canopies, platforms, staircases, and extensions.
- Develop safe, economical, and practical solutions based on drawings, project requirements, site conditions, and loading criteria.
- Model and analyse structures using appropriate engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM Connection, IDEA StatiCa, or equivalent tools.
- Design structural members, framing systems, base plates, anchor bolts, and structural connections.
- Calculate dead, live, wind, seismic, equipment, and other applicable design loads.
- Prepare and review calculations, analysis reports, design notes, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate structural requirements with architectural, MEP, civil, fire and life safety, and other disciplines.
- Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, material submittals, and proposed modifications.
- Provide engineering support to drafting, estimation, fabrication, procurement, and site execution teams.
- Support authority submissions and respond to UAE authority and consultant comments.
