Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects in accordance with WVDOH requirements.
Perform structural analysis and design for various types of bridge structures, including new constructions, widening and rehabilitations, slope stabilization.
Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
Conduct field inspections and evaluations of existing bridge conditions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers and staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WVDOH policies, guidelines, and industry best practices.
Help to mentor and train lesser-experienced Engineers (EIs).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of civil and engineering principles, reporting, analysis and management of teams and projects.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to manage and train others and be a team player.
Ability to be reliable and on time.
Must have a high level of professionalism, and comfortable with client interaction – have the ability to build relationships.
Be quality-minded and client-focused.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree (MSCE) preferred.
Master’s degree (MSCE) preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of West Virginia is required.
9+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on WVDOH projects.
Extensive knowledge of WVDOH design standards, specifications, and procedures.
