Overview
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing and maintaining the storage, issuance, and inventory control of materials, tools, and equipment for MEP projects.
The role ensures proper handling of materials, accurate stock records, and timely availability of items required for project execution while maintaining company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, tools, and equipment against delivery documents and purchase orders.
- Maintain proper storage and organization of materials in the warehouse/store.
- Issue materials to site teams and departments as per approved requests.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movements regularly.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess materials to management.
- Conduct regular stock checks and inventory audits.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and preservation of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams regarding material requirements and deliveries.
- Prepare material receiving reports, issue vouchers, and inventory reports.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within the store area.
- Monitor and control material wastage and damaged items.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials when required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in storekeeping or inventory management is an advantage.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Storekeeper in MEP, construction, or warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of MEP materials, tools, and equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures and documentation.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office and inventory software.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
