Store Manager

Position Overview

Store Leadership and Sales

• Oversee daily operations and lead the team toward sales, service, productivity, and operational targets.
• Set sales objectives and monitor conversion rates, transaction value, customer traffic, and other KPIs.
• Develop sales strategies and coach employees on selling techniques, product knowledge, customer service, and conduct.
• Prepare schedules, allocate responsibilities, and monitor attendance, productivity, grooming, and performance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and employee development.

Customer and Store Standards

• Ensure customers receive a high-quality, personalised, and consistent shopping experience.
• Handle enquiries, complaints, feedback, returns, exchanges, and escalated service issues.
• Maintain visual merchandising, store cleanliness, organisation, presentation, and brand standards.
• Coordinate promotions, product launches, events, pricing, displays, and campaign information.

Inventory and Financial Controls

• Oversee stock receiving, transfers, replenishment, stock counts, product organisation, discrepancies, damaged products, and loss prevention.
• Manage cash handling, POS transactions, refunds, discounts, deposits, expenses, and other financial procedures.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to reduce shortages, excess inventory, and lost sales opportunities.

Analysis and Operations

• Analyse local market conditions, customer preferences, competitor activity, sales trends, and operational data.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering sales, staffing, inventory, customer activity, and operations.
• Coordinate with Head Office, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, HR, maintenance, security, suppliers, and service providers.
• Maintain store equipment, facilities, fixtures, technology, and operational resources.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, security incidents, staffing shortages, and operational disruptions.
• Identify improvements to processes, productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a Store Manager, Retail Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or similar retail leader.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, sales management, customer service, inventory control, team supervision, merchandising, and loss prevention.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
• Strong leadership, coaching, delegation, communication, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing schedules, attendance, performance, training, and daily team activities.
• Experience with POS systems, inventory-management platforms, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Financial awareness and experience with cash, transactions, refunds, expenses, or store budgets.
• Ability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends, public holidays, evenings, and peak periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in luxury retail, fashion, jewelry, watches, beauty, hospitality, electronics, or another premium consumer industry is advantageous.
• Relevant qualifications in Retail Management, Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field are advantageous.
