Role Overview
Apple Cloud operates large-scale storage infrastructure across geographically dispersed data centres.
The Storage SRE team builds and runs distributed storage systems supporting critical services and hundreds of millions of users.
The role requires expertise in infrastructure, storage, data analysis, programming, teamwork, and Linux system internals.
Role Responsibilities
- Own projects and deliverables, design solutions, build stakeholder buy-in, and deliver work successfully and on time.
- Provide technical feedback to colleagues and drive technical standards across a distributed team.
- Participate in a weekend-inclusive on-call rota and handle alerts and escalations to maintain service availability.
- Use and improve tools for configuration management, provisioning, development, deployment, logging, and monitoring.
- Automate manual operations and improve them through repeated iteration.
- Collaborate across time zones with distributed team members and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience building, operating, and scaling distributed storage systems in private, public, or hybrid cloud environments.
