Role Overview
The Steward supports hospitality, cleanliness, and galley operations on board.
The role includes food preparation, service, sanitation, and maintaining a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Cook with daily operations and preparation of every meal.
- Follow safe food-handling and sanitation standards in work areas.
- Clean food-service equipment, preparation areas, and drink dispensers after use.
- Clean and disinfect mess, deck, and galley overheads and bulkheads.
- Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards and follow emergency procedures.
- Clean, peel, and cut food items according to company standards.
- Maintain the assigned work area and report contamination or pest infestation.
- Work in compliance with HSE regulations and use required protective equipment.
- Report defective protective devices and workplace hazards to the employer or supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in similar industries.
- Technical school certificate, equivalent professional qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
- STCW Basic Training, Fire Fighting and Safety Training, and other sea-survival certification.
