About the Role
UF Health Shands Hospital seeks a Sterile Supply Technician for night shift to reprocess reusable medical supplies and instrumentation. Responsibilities include decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage.

Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, sanitize and operate all equipment necessary for the sterilization process
- Inspect, assemble, wrap and label products processed in the department for sterilization according to departmental policies and procedures
- Keep all equipment used for sterilization clean; maintain carts and general work area neat, clean and dust free
- Maintain all department logs and assigned documentation in accordance with recommended guidelines
- Communicate with customers and co workers in a courteous and professional manner; report necessary information from shift to shift
- Complete duties as assigned including working different shifts and days to cover for emergencies, illness, vacations and resignations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Central Sterile processing experience preferred
- Must be able to read and write legibly and communicate in a professional manner
- Solid math skills required

Overview
- Location: UF Health Shands Hospital, 1600 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608
- Schedule: Night Shift | 40hrs. per week
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Responsible for the daily operations of all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization and storage processes within all applicable professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Collects, cleans, sanitizes and operates all equipment necessary for the sterilization process.
- Inspects, assembles, wraps and labels products processed in the department for sterilization according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Keeps all equipment used for sterilization clean; carts and general work area kept neat, clean and dust free.
- Maintains all department logs and assigned documentation in accordance with recommended guidelines and departmental policies and procedures.
- Relates pertinent information to management in a timely manner; communicates with customers and co workers in a courteous and professional manner; reports necessary information from shift to shift in the communication book.
- Completes duties as assigned including working different shifts and days to cover for emergencies, illness, vacations and resignations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Central Sterile processing experience preferred.
- Must be able to read and write legibly and communicate in a professional manner to all hospital staff.
- Solid math skills required.
