Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited Central Service Technician certification program (CRCST or CSPDT); or is otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law (i.e., candidate provides evidence that he/she worked as Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015); or becomes CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role. Experience: Sterile Processing or Materials Processing preferred License/Certification: CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role. If someone qualifies under NYS Public Health Law for the length of employment and thus is grandfathered, they do not require the certification. Skills: Able to understand written and oral direction as well as interpret equipment operation instructions.
