Role Overview
Design steel structures, create CAD models, analyze loads and pressures, monitor construction processes, and collaborate with contractors and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare steel designs, reports, and drawings.
- Calculate pressures, loads, and stresses.
- Consider material strength and select appropriate construction materials.
- Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
- Obtain planning and building regulations approval.
- Analyze configurations of structural components.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals.
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure structural soundness.
- Inspect properties to evaluate conditions and foundations.
- Use CAD technology for simulation purposes.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, with steel engineering experience required.
- At least five years of experience as a structural steel design engineer.
- Professional registration with Dubai Municipality as a steel structural engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
- Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
