Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate 3D models and detailed 2D fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel projects
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards
- Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, develop connection details, generate material take off lists, and produce CNC and related fabrication data
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve detailing issues
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback, support quality checks, and help meet project schedules and deliverable deadlines
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in steel detailing software (e.g., Tekla Structures, SDS/2, Advance Steel, or similar) and CAD tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
- Solid understanding of structural steel design and fabrication practices, including connection detailing, shop drawing standards, and erection sequencing
- Experience working with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., AISC, CISC, BS, IS codes, OSHA) and applying them to detailing work
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in dimensions and quantities, and ability to produce clear, organized drawings and documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with remote teams, engineers, and project managers across different time zones
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote setting
- Prior experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects (e.g., plants, bridges, buildings) is highly beneficial
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in steel detailing

Role Description
- This is a full time remote role for a Steel Detailer at SSP Engineers.
- The Steel Detailer will prepare accurate 3D models and detailed 2D fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.
