Position Overview This position is accountable for developing, drafting, and publishing the Highway Standards Drawings. Essential Functions Develops, prepares, and publishes the Highway Standard Drawings. Provides liaison for contractors, manufacturers, and material associations. Makes presentations to explain new/revised standards. Directs, organizes, develops, and motivates personnel to accomplish department objectives in theStandards and Specifications Unit. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a mannerconducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois OR currentregistration as a Licensed Structural Engineer in the state of Illinois. Five years of experience in civil engineering.
Working knowledge of construction concepts. Working knowledge of CADD. Strong written and oral communication skills. Conditions of Employment Valid driver’s license. Statewide and occasional out-of-state travel with overnight stays. Successful completion of a background screening.
