About the Team
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Production Technology team develops algorithms, tools, and workflows for animated feature film production.
Engineers work closely with artists, production and technology leadership, technical directors, software engineers, technologists, and researchers.
The role focuses on software development across core libraries, user interfaces, data management, and production workflows.
Projects Include
- Design and implement infrastructure for shot, environment, and asset definitions.
- Build APIs for artist-facing and data management tools to access shot content.
- Identify and solve technical obstacles encountered by artists in production.
- Extend core libraries used for end-user tool creation.
- Create tools and interfaces for authoring, editing, accessing, and inspecting shot and asset content.
- Integrate external digital content creation applications into the pipeline.
- Build third-party application plugins and artist dashboards for task management and collaboration.
Developer Experience
Engineers work across the full stack of production tools, from underlying algorithms to artist-friendly interfaces.
