The Staff Software Engineer will join Braze's AI Decisioning Experience team.

The role will shape reinforcement-learning-based personalization solutions and lead high-impact product initiatives.

The position covers Decisioning Studio experiences across self-serve DS Go and managed DS Pro tiers.

Lead initiatives covering agent setup, creative, launch workflows, reporting, and services connecting the user experience to machine-learning pipelines.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and ML Engineering to turn the AI roadmap into reliable software.
Build full-stack experiences from dashboard interfaces to APIs and services.
Lead web application architecture efforts focused on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Influence product strategy and roadmap through technical insights and user-experience innovation.
Mentor engineers and foster a high-performance engineering culture.
Support teams implementing Braze AI solutions to enable customer success.

Seven or more years of relevant experience with a strong record of delivering impact.
Comfort working across the full stack, including data models, APIs, background jobs, and end-to-end product surfaces.
Strong frontend development skills with TypeScript and React.
Strong background designing and maintaining scalable web application architectures.
Expert practice with AI coding agents, reusable skills, and development automation.
Clear written and verbal communication, including design documents and technical proposals.
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to their technical development.

Experience developing user experiences for machine-learning and data-intensive applications.
Experience building product surfaces on LLMs and agentic systems, including embeddings, agent orchestration, and evaluation.
Experience with Python and/or Ruby on Rails.
Vue experience is a plus.

For candidates based in Canada, the expected starting pay range is CACAD 184,000 to CACAD 314,000 per year.
Expected on-target earnings are CACAD 204,000 to CACAD 348,000 per year, including performance-based or variable compensation.
The role may also include equity grants of restricted stock units.
