About the Group and Role
Client Platform provides foundations for Canva products across Web Platform, Mobile Platform, and user-facing product surfaces.
Mobile Platform owns how Canva runs on iOS and Android and focuses on mobile performance and cross-platform development at scale.
The role is the team's React Native expert, combining platform tooling, performance work, and engineering enablement.
What you'd be doing
- Help engineers transition from browser-focused React development to React Native and understand where platform-specific approaches are required.
- Support a hybrid React Native and React DOM stack that shares code across iOS, Android, and web.
- Contribute to platform tooling, mobile performance work, and the wider team's React Native fluency.
- Influence how multiple teams build through documentation, tooling, direct collaboration, design documents, and reviews.
- Make architectural decisions for a mobile platform supporting Canva products at large scale.
Experience
- Experience with React Native at real scale in a large company and technically complex product.
- Experience solving real React Native performance problems.
