Role Overview
Staff Software Engineer role on the Video AI team within the AI/ML organization in Bangalore.
The team develops capabilities including scene segmentation, video annotation, clip generation, metadata enrichment, video understanding, captions, translations, subtitles, and content classification.
The role focuses on scalable machine learning platform architecture, deployment, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead scalable, reliable, cloud-agnostic machine learning platform components.
- Build APIs, microservices, orchestration, model registry integrations, and observability for ML workflows.
- Architect video AI pipelines covering ingestion, preprocessing, annotation, training, evaluation, serving, monitoring, and improvement.
- Deploy AI systems on GCP using Vertex AI, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
- Own Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code automation.
- Evaluate, fine-tune, train, optimize, and deploy computer vision and multimodal AI models.
- Mentor engineers and influence architecture and technical direction across teams.
Requirements
- 9–12+ years of experience building scalable backend systems, distributed services, and cloud-native platforms.
- Strong GCP and Vertex AI experience, including Pipelines, Model Registry, Endpoints, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Monitoring, and Logging.
- Production experience with ML training, evaluation, serving, monitoring, rollback, and lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of deep learning, computer vision, generative AI, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face.
- Excellent Python proficiency with strong software design, API design, and architecture skills.
- Strong Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, containerized deployment, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and observability stacks.
- Familiarity with Triton, TorchServe, vLLM, RAG, LLM/VLM deployment, vector databases, and GPU inference is preferred.
- A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required, with equivalent practical experience also considered.
