Role Overview
Lead frontend engineering for Compass's Transaction Journey organization.
Build a collaborative transaction management platform covering forms, eSign, compliance review, and commission processing.
Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact real estate technology products.
Responsibilities
- Own platform architecture, data ingestion, and normalization to support a scalable search experience.
- Lead complex technical projects across the full technology stack.
- Define reliability KPIs and lead improvements to service health, technical debt, infrastructure costs, and manual toil.
- Operationalize AI, data pipelines, telemetry, decoupled systems, and automated engineering workflows.
- Recruit, inspire, and mentor engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years developing comprehensive, well-tested, high-performance software applications.
- 5+ years of experience with React and Node.js.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS or cloud technologies.
- Technical leadership experience with cross-team impact.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, software architecture, and operational excellence skills.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Experience
- Backend programming experience with Java, Golang, or Python is nice to have.
- Experience with Kafka, event-driven systems, gRPC, Thrift, or similar protocols is nice to have.
Compensation
- The stated base pay range is $228,000 to $240,000, with variation based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
- Bonuses and restricted stock units may be included in the compensation package.
