Role Overview
This Staff Software Engineer role provides senior technical leadership for backend systems supporting Canva's experimentation program.
The role will help evolve a platform for experiment setup, user targeting, variant exposure, outcome measurement, and safer product rollouts.
What You Will Do
- Own significant technical problems and shape the direction of the experimentation platform.
- Improve experimentation practices, surface signals faster, and alert early when things go wrong.
- Work with senior leaders and teams building the platform across Canva.
- Help automate analysis so teams can learn faster and iterate.
Experience
- Experience building backend systems or platforms that other engineers depend on.
- Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, feature-management, or progressive-rollout systems at scale is valuable.
- Ability to form technical direction for ambiguous engineering problems and help other engineers reach outcomes.
- Experience building internal platforms that other teams trust and use.
