The Staff R&D Engineer serves as SiCore firmware developer. SiCore is a STM32-based board used, primarily, to precisely control temperature during "assay runs". Assays implement molecular diagnostics. Perform as an embedded systems engineer for this mature, but not yet shipping product. Become a subject matter expert, assisting cross-functional teams to diagnose complex problems, usually regarding edge-case accuracy.
This position reports to the Director of Firmware Engineering and is part of Systems R&D located in Sunnyvale and will be an on-site role.
Serve as primary embedded daughter board firmware developer. The STM32-based board is used, primarily, to precisely control temperature during diagnostic studies.
Become a subject matter expert in those diagnostic studies, assisting cross-functional teams to diagnose complex problems, usually regarding edge-case accuracy.

The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related work experience, OR

Any of the following additional optional qualifications would work in a candidate’s favor:
Professional experience in the molecular diagnostics field or biotech industry
Professional or academic experience in developing and maintaining industrial process control logic
