Staff/Principal Engineer - AI/ML & System-Level Validation

Infrastructure and Quality

• Architect distributed test runners, CI fleets, hardware lab orchestration, result data lakes, flaky-test detection, and bisection automation.
• Champion shift-left testing, test pyramids, contract testing, hermetic environments, and continuous validation.
• Define GitHub pull-request gating, required checks, coverage standards, triage cadences, and issue management.

Debugging and Leadership

• Root-cause complex multi-day, multi-node, and multi-component failures with development, hardware, firmware, and customer teams.
• Influence validation readiness for future Instinct GPUs and server platforms.
• Mentor validation engineers, SDETs, and SQA leads and represent ROCm validation externally.

Minimum Qualifications

• 12 or more years of software engineering experience focused on validation, SDET, or quality engineering.
• Five or more years in a senior individual-contributor role leading complex systems software validation.
• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Expert Python and strong C++ skills.
• Deep validation experience in at least two specified GPU, AI, HPC, operating-system, firmware, or distributed-systems domains.
• Multi-GPU and multi-node server validation experience, including stress, stability, fault injection, and RAS testing.
• Production use of LLM-based coding agents and related evaluation, integration, and guardrail workflows.
• Experience shipping release qualification programs for hyperscaler, OEM, or Tier-1 software customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to ROCm, PyTorch, LLVM, Triton, vLLM, or comparable open-source projects are preferred.
• Experience with large GPU clusters, industry benchmarks, performance profiling, fault injection, telemetry, or long-haul stability is preferred.
• Hardware lab automation and pre-silicon, emulation, or first-silicon accelerator validation are preferred.
