Role overview
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is hiring a Staff Embedded Software Engineer for its Targeting Business Unit.
The role supports defense products through model-based engineering, DevSecOps, Agile practices, and continuous automation.
The engineer will develop software and firmware across the full software development life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, operate, and maintain embedded software, firmware components, and computing systems software.
- Apply standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle.
- Develop engineering applications and products for the Targeting Business Unit.
- Perform requirements work, design, coding, testing, debugging, and integration.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and technical and support personnel.
Basic qualifications
- A qualifying degree and substantial engineering experience are required: bachelor’s with 12+ years, master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
- Without a qualifying degree, an additional four years of experience is required.
- Object-oriented programming in C++ is required.
- Embedded software development on Linux or VxWorks is required.
