Role Summary
Join the Infotainment team as a Staff Android OS Engineer.
Contribute to the core Android OS for next-generation Rivian and Volkswagen Group vehicles.
Focus on foundational components, OS tuning and customization, and system security.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and customize core Android OS frameworks and services within Android Automotive OS.
- Own the software lifecycle from requirements analysis and scoping through architecture, development, code reviews, and quality assurance planning.
- Lead design and code reviews and collaborate on technical decisions.
- Implement and optimize HALs for vehicle-specific hardware.
- Optimize Android performance, boot time, memory usage, and stability.
- Integrate features, debug system-level issues, and support inter-ECU communication.
- Write and review performance-critical OS code.
- Implement IPC, memory management, security sandboxing, networking, and power or performance features.
