Role Overview

Manage high-revenue group and catering opportunities and increase revenue through proactive selling and upselling.

Achieve individual and team revenue goals while ensuring business is processed properly and services are delivered effectively.

Improve customer and guest loyalty by providing exceptional service throughout each client experience.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED plus two years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a two-year degree from an accredited university in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or a related field.
  • The degree alternative does not require prior work experience.

Market Opportunities and Revenue Growth

  • Target group and catering customers, markets, and segments with an emphasis on proactive solicitation and customer saturation.
  • Work with group and catering partners to manage business opportunities effectively.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve individual and hotel revenue goals.
  • Develop group and catering sales plans and action strategies.
  • Design, develop, and sell creative dining events.
  • Maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative catering options.
  • Understand competitors, economic trends, supply, demand, and other market factors that affect selling.
  • Use negotiation and creative selling skills to close business and negotiate contracts.

Exceptional Customer Service

  • Handle complex business involving significant revenue potential and high customer expectations.
  • Build relationships with existing and new customers to generate future bookings through sales visits, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows.
  • Develop community relationships to strengthen and expand the customer base for group and catering sales.
  • Support brand service and relationship strategies and improve customer loyalty through exceptional service.
  • Apply brand and hotel customer service standards and daily service principles.
  • Assist clients before and during plans and events, recommend suitable features and services, and maintain loyalty to the hotel and brand.
  • Understand target customers, their businesses, and their concerns to provide stronger business solutions before and during events.

Relationships and Additional Duties

  • Coordinate with external hotel sales channels, including market sales and strategic accounts, to ensure complementary sales efforts.
  • Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and use sales resources and administrative support staff.
  • Use the intranet to obtain resources and information.
  • Conduct site inspections and prepare proposals, contracts, and client correspondence.
  • Support reservations operations as needed.
