Summary -
The Senior Telecommunications Technical Support Engineer acts as the SME for the platforms they are already an expert in, providing T2/T3 remote technical support and troubleshooting, while contributing beginner-level assistance for additional platforms that lack established procedures to support overall team needs. The senior engineer also provides technical leadership, guidance, and support to colleagues across the ATS team.
Essential Functions
Document all work in Freshdesk ticket system.
Develop Job Aids where necessary.
Other duties are required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High school diploma or GED; Engineering/Technology degree or certification preferred.
- 10+ years T2/T3-level troubleshooting on supported products.
- SME-level experience with ASAM 1000/7300, Lucent CBX-500/GX-550, Ciena DN7100/7200, Tellabs 1000/AFC AccessMAX, Litespan 2000, and Adtran TA11xx/12xx, 1248A, TA5000
- Experienced resolving complex technical issues across ASAM/DSLAM and ATM-based platforms within a production network environment.
- EMS system and CLI experience required.
- Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
