Sr. Software Engineer, iOS (Swift)

Role Overview

Workplace and Location

• The position is open to candidates in the Seattle, Washington area.
• The schedule is hybrid remote and in-office, with work from the office at least three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain native iOS applications using Swift and modern frameworks.
• Own solutions through requirements, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and improvement.
• Participate in architecture reviews covering application design, performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.
• Apply secure-by-design principles and address privacy, data protection, and compliance considerations.
• Build automated unit and functional tests and incorporate validation, observability, and reliability.
• Validate integrations with internal insurance platforms, enterprise services, and partner APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD, build automation, and release management.
• Publish and maintain releases in the Apple App Store ecosystem.
• Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, support root cause analysis, and join on-call rotations.
• Evaluate emerging iOS technologies and practices to improve platform capability and developer effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience with hands-on native iOS development is required.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and the iOS development ecosystem is required.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, backend integration, software architecture, automated testing, Git, and peer code reviews is required.
• Strong understanding of secure software development and application security best practices is required.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills are required.
• Ability to independently own features and deliver results in a fast-paced agile environment is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SwiftUI, Combine, and modern Apple frameworks is preferred.
• Experience with App Store publishing, enterprise or insurance systems, CI/CD, observability, production support, cloud-native architectures, or distributed systems is preferred.
• Experience applying SOLID and object-oriented design principles is preferred.

Compensation

• The annual base salary range is $160,000 to $170,000 on a full-time schedule.
• Employees are currently eligible for monthly bonuses and receive Restricted Stock Units with four-year vesting for new-hire grants.
