Sr. Software Engineer I, Cloud Security Platform

Design and build core components of Samsara's Cloud Governance Platform, contributing hands-on to cloud IAM, security controls, compliance enforcement, and software supply-chain security capabilities.

Contribute to the roadmap for governance and security tooling across AWS and GCP, bringing engineering judgment to prioritization discussions.

Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into automated, continuously enforced controls through direct implementation.

Build and maintain software supply-chain security tooling, including SAST, DAST, and secure CI/CD pipeline patterns.

Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams to implement solutions for cross-functional risk and governance problems.

Share technical knowledge with teammates through code reviews, pairing, and day-to-day collaboration.

Clearly communicate technical approach, tradeoffs, and risks in design docs and team discussions.

Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Experience building internal developer platforms or governance systems used across many teams.

Background in developer tools, infrastructure, or productivity engineering.

Experience with software supply-chain security practices and tooling.

Proficiency in Golang, Python, Terraform, or similar platform-focused technologies.

Strong judgment in balancing developer experience, platform adoption, and enforcement of security controls.
