Sr Software Engineer - Cloud Platform—Kubernetes Development

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Kubernetes platform components and core subsystems.
• Write and review Go code for controllers, operators, platform services, and automation.
• Drive open-ended platform problems to working, production-ready solutions.
• Participate in on-call, incident investigation, and corrective follow-up work.
• Improve workload operation on the platform with dependent teams.
• Apply AI-powered tooling and automation to engineering and operational work.

Required qualifications

• Experience integrating or critically evaluating AI in engineering work or workflow automation.
• Production experience building and shipping Kubernetes infrastructure or platform components that you designed and owned.
• 5+ years of production software development experience, including running and debugging Kubernetes workloads.
• Solid Go skills or strong systems-language skills with willingness to work primarily in Go.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP compute, networking, and IAM primitives.
• Comfort with containers, CI/CD, GitOps delivery, and infrastructure as code.

Additional qualifications

• Kubernetes controller or operator development experience is helpful.
• Exposure to container networking, service mesh, workload identity, or mTLS is helpful.
• Secrets management or certificate lifecycle experience is helpful.
• Observability experience with metrics, tracing, and SLOs is helpful.
• Managed Kubernetes, Terraform, or Crossplane experience is helpful.
