Role Overview

Compensation

• The salary range is $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Workplace and Location

• EDC operates under a hybrid work model with employees currently required to work from the office two days per week.
• The office requirement is scheduled to increase to three days per week starting in September 2026 through a phased implementation.
• The role may be performed from EDC locations in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Mississauga, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Halifax.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Cognos reports, packages, queries, prompts, calculations, filters, security requirements, and usage patterns.
• Confirm reporting requirements and identify opportunities for report consolidation, redesign, or retirement.
• Document report logic, data sources, mappings, layouts, dependencies, and business rules.
• Build Power BI reports, dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models.
• Transform and validate data using SQL, Power Query, DAX, and approved enterprise sources.
• Support testing, reconcile Cognos and Power BI results, investigate variances, and document outcomes.
• Collaborate with data, architecture, governance, and platform teams on secure and maintainable reporting.
• Prepare inventories, documentation, user guidance, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Contribute to planning, backlog refinement, prioritization, status reporting, and risk tracking.
• Support deployment, post-implementation validation, and transition to ongoing support.

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in enterprise business intelligence, reporting, or analytics development.
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and developing Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, or paginated reports.
• Experience reverse engineering or migrating IBM Cognos Analytics reports to Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, data marts, data warehouses, or enterprise data platforms.
• Ability to gather requirements, document business logic, validate results, and communicate with technical and business audiences.
• Experience supporting report testing, reconciliation, defect resolution, and stakeholder sign-off.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, Crown corporations, or regulated reporting environments.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, report inventories, and controlled report retirement.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery, Azure DevOps, backlog management, and iterative report development.
• Bilingualism in English and French.
