  • The office requirement is scheduled to increase to three days per week beginning in September 2026 through a phased approach, subject to change.
  • The role may be performed from Ottawa or listed EDC community hubs across Canada.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze Cognos reporting assets and usage patterns to determine migration scope and complexity.
  • Confirm requirements with stakeholders and identify reports for consolidation, redesign, or retirement.
  • Document report logic, data sources, mappings, layouts, dependencies, and business rules.
  • Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models.
  • Transform and validate data with SQL, Power Query, DAX, and approved enterprise data sources.
  • Support testing, reconciliation, variance investigation, and stakeholder sign-off.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, governance, and platform teams on secure and maintainable reporting.
  • Prepare inventories, documentation, user guidance, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Contribute to migration planning, backlog management, status reporting, and issue tracking.
  • Support deployment, post-implementation validation, and transition to ongoing support.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least seven years of business intelligence, reporting, or enterprise analytics experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and development of Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, or paginated reports.
  • Experience migrating or reverse engineering IBM Cognos Analytics reports to Power BI.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, data marts, data warehouses, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Ability to gather requirements, document logic, validate results, communicate findings, and support testing and reconciliation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, Crown corporations, or regulated reporting environments.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, report inventories, and controlled report retirement.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, Azure DevOps, backlog management, and iterative report development.
  • Bilingualism in English and French.
