Role overview
The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer oversees quality control and assurance processes for mechanical systems in MEP projects.
The role covers HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems and requires compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Review and approve method statements, Inspection and Test Plans, and material submittals for mechanical systems.
- Perform inspections and tests on HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting installations.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other relevant standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
- Prepare inspection reports, test certificates, and as-built records.
- Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor work progress to ensure timely completion of quality inspections and tests.
- Support testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Assist in preparing final project handover documentation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanical MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection installations.
