Role & Responsibilities

• Primary communication bridge between Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders, including clients, vendors, development teams, and executive leadership
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with bilingual stakeholders and develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management
• Gather and analyse complex business requirements from business and document functional and non-functional requirements which include documents like detailed business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specification documents (FSDs)
• Lead the process of requirement gathering, designing and delivering the technical solutions while ensuring alignment with development and business objectives. Own technical implementation of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including implementation and release management.
• Well versed in Agile way of working with experience in Sprint Planning, Execution etc.
• Lead tech team for the UAT, PROD release processes by collaborating with the QA team and regional operations teams (including Japan) to ensure all releases meet quality standards.
• Foster strong collaboration and communication across global development, QA and support teams. Engage with cross-functional IT teams to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment on goals.
• Actively participate in firm-wide strategic initiatives, contributing technical expertise and insights to support organizational objectives.
• Enhance and support the JBS IT frameworks, ensuring they are robust and scalable to meet evolving business demands.

Mandatory Skill Set

• Fluency in both Japanese and English (speaking, reading, writing, listening) and ability to interpret and translate technical terminology, business jargon, and nuanced concepts accurately between languages along with strong presentation skills in both languages for diverse audiences (technical teams, executives, clients)
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid project methodologies and experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project)
• A committed team player who possesses strong technical skills along with good written and verbal communication skills. Able to work with people across different departments, countries and regions.
• Good communication skills (clear and concise).
• Ability to think logically and systematically to devise solutions along with the team
• Ability to exhibit high level of professionalism in team-oriented environment.
• Ownership of technical deliverables for assigned areas.

Desired Skill Set

• Should have 15 plus years of experience of business analysis in financial market with ability to drive development by guiding developers about business requirements.
• Strong understanding of various financial products like Rates, Credit, FX and Equity along with front to back lifecycle of trades including front office, middle office and back office.
• Ability to organize requirements and break it into small deliverables by a developer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to understand and articulate requirements accurately.
• Experience in Tools like Jira, Gitlab is expected.
• Good knowledge of Regulatory reporting is optional
• Japanese language and culture exposure is preferred but not mandatory.
