Project Scheduling and Planning
- Create master schedules for complex steel fabrication projects.
- Define phases including detailing, material procurement, fabrication, blasting, painting, and delivery.
- Estimate manpower, machinery, and factory-space requirements.
Progress Tracking and Control
- Monitor daily progress against the baseline schedule.
- Identify production bottlenecks early and create recovery plans.
- Provide stakeholders with regular progress reports and charts.
Cost and Material Management
- Track material arrivals to prevent factory downtime.
- Monitor project budgets and analyze planned versus actual cost variances.
- Manage change orders and assess their impact on timelines.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with design, procurement, production, and quality control teams.
- Lead planning meetings to align factory supervisors with project goals.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering is required.
- 8+ years of planning experience in a heavy steel fabrication or heavy engineering plant is required.
- Experience handling large-scale structural steel projects is required.
