Position summary
The Senior Performance Engineer will assess and enhance the performance, scalability, and site reliability of software applications.
The role designs performance tests, analyzes metrics, and collaborates with development and operations teams to optimize systems.
Essential functions
- Design, develop, and execute performance tests for system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Define performance testing requirements and objectives with stakeholders.
- Analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Optimize application code, configurations, and infrastructure with development and operations teams.
- Use and evaluate performance testing tools, including JMeter, Azure Load Testing, Dynatrace, LoadRunner, and Gatling.
- Generate reports, present findings, and provide insights into performance trends.
- Integrate performance testing into development and release cycles.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of performance testing strategies and processes.
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of performance testing and engineering experience in complex systems.
- Proficiency with JMeter, Azure Load Testing, Dynatrace, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar tools.
