Operate IP networking components in a 24/7 Software-as-a-Service production environment.
Build and maintain scalable, secure, and automated network infrastructure for a global cloud software platform.
Core Responsibilities
- Design CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, digital-twin dry runs, and zero-downtime network configuration deployments.
- Establish GitOps and Network-as-Code workflows using Git as the source of truth.
- Create reusable automation frameworks and playbooks to eliminate manual network configuration.
- Design software-defined networks and container networking interfaces for multi-region cloud and bare-metal environments.
- Act as a Tier 4 technical authority for difficult network, routing, and overlay problems.
- Build telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation platforms.
- Partner with enterprise design, SRE, and platform teams on resilient and isolated network infrastructure.
- Write and review Infrastructure-as-Code using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Python, and Bash.
- Deploy and optimize VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico networking solutions.
- Automate firewall, security group, ACL, and load-balancing policies.
- Create network validation suites for routing tables, network health, and deployment state.
- Maintain code-based infrastructure definitions and technical documentation using tools such as NetBox and Git Markdown.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in network engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Expert proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and network automation libraries such as Netmiko, Nornir, or NAPALM.
- Deep expertise with SDN and overlays, specifically VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico.
- Advanced enterprise-scale Kubernetes networking knowledge.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus, Arista, Versa SD-WAN, Palo Alto, and Fortinet environments.
- Knowledge of API-driven application delivery and load balancing with F5 BIG-IP AS3, Cloudflare APIs, or Octavia LBaaS.
- Deep Linux networking expertise, including namespaces, virtual interfaces, eBPF or iptables, and kernel routing.
- CCIE-level or equivalent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and EVPN.
- Experience scaling CI/CD platforms and applying test-driven development to infrastructure changes.
- Advanced packet analysis, NetFlow, and log aggregation troubleshooting capabilities.
- Technical leadership experience mentoring engineers and leading design reviews.
- Telecommunications experience with VoIP, RTP, SIP, and Session Border Controllers is advantageous.
