Role Overview
The role operates IP networking components in a 24/7 SaaS production environment.
The position focuses on large-scale network automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, network-as-code, and resilient hybrid infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
- Design CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, digital-twin validation, and zero-downtime configuration deployment.
- Establish GitOps workflows and maintain Git as the source of truth for network state and infrastructure design.
- Design reusable automation frameworks and optimize SDN and container networking.
- Serve as a Tier 4 authority for complex network, routing, and overlay issues.
- Build telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation platforms.
Engineering Responsibilities
- Partner with Enterprise Designers, SRE leaders, and Platform teams on secure, resilient, multi-tenant infrastructure.
- Write and review Infrastructure-as-Code using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Python, and Bash.
- Automate firewall, load-balancer, security, routing, and network validation policies.
- Maintain code-based infrastructure definitions and dynamic technical documentation.
- Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Experience Requirements
- 5 or more years of progressive Network Engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience is required.
- Large-scale network design, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code experience is required.
- Expert Ansible, Terraform, Python, and network automation library experience is required.
- Expert SDN, overlay, Kubernetes networking, routing, security, and load-balancing experience is required.
Networking Skills
- Required expertise includes VXLAN, OVN, Project Calico, Cisco Nexus, Arista, Versa SD-WAN, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Required routing knowledge includes BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and EVPN at CCIE level or equivalent.
- Required Linux networking knowledge includes namespaces, virtual interfaces, eBPF, iptables, and kernel-level routing.
- Required troubleshooting skills include tcpdump, Wireshark, NetFlow, and log aggregation.
Preferred Domain Experience
- Deep telecommunications experience with VoIP, RTP, SIP peering or trunking, and Session Border Controllers is highly advantageous.
