- Collins Aerospace Engineering & Technology is looking to hire a Sr. Engineering Manager - Design Quality who has a passion for problem solving and developing high-performing teams. You will be part of the Design Quality Assurance organization, working closely with stakeholders to ensure the quality of exciting new design products and develop continual improvement solutions.
- This role will be worked onsite in Richardson, TX or Sterling, VA and will require an active or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance. Relocation assistance is available.
What You Will Do:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans, guidelines, and policies to achieve quality targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality Management: Direct the development and implementation of organization-wide projects and processes to enhance overall product quality and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
- Data-Driven Insights: Oversee the collection and analysis of quality data from various sources to develop long-term quality strategies and programs.
- Process Improvement: Lead process analyses to ensure compliance with quality standards, making recommendations for enhancements as needed.
- Talent Development: Develop and mentor team members, establishing a strong talent pipeline to support current and future business needs.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Foster collaborative relationships with functional and business leaders to promote a transformative quality organization aligned with business objectives.
- Travel 25%
- What You Will Learn:
- Involvement in ensuring the quality of our exciting products
- Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with non-recurring or design and development engineering, including Systems and Software Engineering
- Experience leading a team in a professional environment
- Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements (i.e. AS9100, AS9145, DO-178, etc.)
- Experience in Continuous Process Improvement methods, Lean Six Sigma, or ASQ certifications
- Experience in engineering practices
