Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities or market segments for RNG and e methane
- Source business development activities targeting potential investment opportunities and support due diligence
- Review documents such as equity agreements, sales and purchase agreements, and O&M agreements
- Review financial model to support investment decision making
- Support progress management of existing investment portfolio and Pre FEED/FEED staged projects toward FID
- Coordinate communication between OGUSA and partner(s) to conduct project progress management
- Identify growth constraints, potential risks, and hidden opportunity loss in partner
- Participate in due diligence and analysis of investment opportunities
- Attend project progress meetings and prepare internal reports
- Coordinate support from external advisors including legal, tax, accounting, and technical advisors
- Perform a key role in establishing OGUSA's mid/long term investment strategy
- Guide and collaborate with peer/junior staff in analysis of U.S. market outlook
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or other Renewable Energy related Finance or science field. MBA preferred
- At least 5 years of related energy industry experience
- Exposure to corporate level equity participation and due diligence on financial performance in the US energy sector
- Experience in applying tax credits to energy projects in the U.S.
- Experience with EPC and O&M activities, working knowledge of associated agreements
- Experience supporting review and/or negotiation of definitive agreements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent management and team skills
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations
- Eager to understand the culture/nuanced internal approval process of a Japanese company
- Willingness to attend occasional meetings with Japan based colleagues before or after normal working hours

General Position Summary
- The Senior Manager, Future Business Development (FBD), is responsible for project management and business development of low carbon fuels primarily renewable natural gas (RNG) and e methane.
- The Senior Manager will support establishing the FBD general investment strategy, project and company evaluations, due diligence, and research.
- Additionally, the Senior Manager will serve as an external interface between Osaka Gas, partners, financial players, advisors, etc. to achieve decarbonization goals.
Essential Job Functions
- Supports and contributes to business development and project management activities for RNG and e methane business opportunities.
