Position Overview

  • Sr. Maintenance Technician in General Assembly is responsible for leading and coordinating electrical, mechanical, and automation maintenance technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all General Assembly equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, assign, and supervise electrical, mechanical, and automation technicians across shifts.
  • Coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities across all GA assets.
  • Act as first escalation point during major breakdowns and ensure fast, structured recovery.
  • Provide hands on technical support for complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
  • Guide root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Enforce strict compliance with LOTO, PPE, electrical safety, machine safety, and hazardous area requirements.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance plans are executed with high compliance.
  • Monitor breakdown trends, MTBF, MTTR, and downtime KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, availability, and maintainability.
  • Coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams.

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Understanding of General Assembly: conveyors, ovens, pumps, fans, booths, utilities, PLC based systems, industrial robots, and safety circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and control logic.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and condition monitoring.
  • Proven ability to lead multi disciplinary maintenance teams.
  • Strong decision making skills during breakdown and production critical situations.
  • Structured problem solving and RCA capability.
  • Effective communication across technical and non technical teams.
  • High safety awareness and accountability mindset.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • 5 6 years of maintenance experience in automotive manufacturing or paint shop environments.
  • Hands on experience across electrical, mechanical, and automation maintenance.
  • Willingness to work shifts and provide on call support as per production needs.
