Sr. Full Stack Developer, TD Securities

Role Overview

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of modern full-stack applications across capital markets.
• Build React and TypeScript user experiences and Node.js and Java backend services.
• Work with stakeholders, traders, and end users to refine requirements and shape the product roadmap.
• Contribute code, participate in reviews, and drive technical design decisions.
• Coordinate multiple projects, troubleshoot production issues, and improve platform stability.
• Ensure platforms are reliable, scalable, secure, and extensible.
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers and promote engineering best practices.

Technology Stack

• Frontend technologies include React, TypeScript, React Router, React Query, Zustand, AgGrid, React Hook Form, and Mantine.
• Backend technologies include Node.js, TypeScript, Express, Java 11/17/21, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and WebSockets.
• Databases include MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server.
• Testing and delivery tools include Vitest, Jest, TeamCity, Azure, GitHub, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Additional tools include Glue42, CSS and SCSS modules, Vite, Rollup, and Figma.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional software development experience building modern web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern front-end architecture.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot backend services and APIs.
• Experience with relational and document databases such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Experience leading development efforts, coordinating developers, and supporting production applications.
• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and attention to detail.
• Degree or diploma in a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in capital markets or front-office trading environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with pricing, inventory, positions, profit and loss, or risk management workflows is preferred.
• Experience in investment banking, hedge funds, asset management, or trading firms is preferred.
• Experience with desktop interoperability, real-time systems, event-driven architecture, or messaging is preferred.

Compensation

• The listed base pay range is $126,800 to $164,100 CAD.
• The role is eligible for discretionary variable compensation based on business and individual performance.
