The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst supports external financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and audit compliance activities.

The role collaborates with Finance and business leaders to maintain accurate reporting and a strong control environment.

The position supports strategic projects including acquisitions and business integrations.

Workplace

  • This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week in the Brampton office.
  • The stated location is Brampton, Ontario.

Financial Reporting and Controls

  • Assist with quarterly and annual consolidated reports, reporting packages, and technical accounting documentation.
  • Review discrepancies and collaborate with Finance and business partners to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and evaluate key control effectiveness.
  • Maintain control documentation, risk-control matrices, testing evidence, and monitoring activities.
  • Partner with control owners and drive remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Implement controls arising from system changes, acquisitions, and process enhancements.

Accounting and Transactions

  • Research and document technical accounting matters under IFRS.
  • Support acquisitions, business integrations, and corporate transactions from a reporting and controls perspective.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit requests.
  • Assist with governance and compliance projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline with five to eight years of progressive experience.
  • Experience preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements and disclosures.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel proficiency, analytical and problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA completion.
  • Public accounting or public audit firm experience.
  • Experience with publicly listed company financial reporting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Compensation

  • The compensation range is $80,133 to $100,166 CAD per year.
