About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Own tenant-scoped metrics APIs, including aggregation logic, query performance, and schema evolution.
• Enforce tenant and billing-entity isolation structurally in the data access layer.
• Design SQLModel entities and safely run Alembic migrations against live data with validation queries.
• Maintain matching Pydantic server models and Zod client schemas without silent contract drift.
• Reconcile reported metrics with trusted BI numbers and explain questioned figures.
• Tune caching, rate limiting, pagination, and database query plans.
• Implement OAuth2/OIDC, JWT validation, scopes, and claims-based authorization.
• Build and review React and TypeScript features and take end-to-end ownership when required.
• Maintain pytest coverage, tracing, and structured logging for production diagnosis.
• Triage customer-raised production issues across the stack.
• Work with data engineering and BI teams on metric definitions, mart design, and reconciliation.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years building production backend services and at least 3 years using Python in a modern async stack.
• Working proficiency in TypeScript and React is required.
• Deep FastAPI experience with async request handling, dependency injection, and background tasks.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills including asyncpg, connection pooling, indexing, and query-plan analysis.
• Advanced SQL knowledge including window functions, CTEs, time-bucketed rollups, and duplicate or late-arriving data handling.
• Experience with SQLModel or SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, Alembic, multi-tenant systems, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and API authorization.
• Experience with caching, rate limiting, API performance tuning, pytest, async testing, fixtures, Git workflows, code review, and CI/CD.
• Cloud platforms, containerization, and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Loki are a plus.
• Exposure to dbt, Snowflake, warehouse-to-application data modeling, or Power BI/DAX is a plus.
• Strong written communication and ability to work within defined overlap hours across time zones.
