Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all dredging operations onboard the Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD), ensuring safe, efficient, and productive execution of the project.
  • Plan, coordinate, and optimize dredging activities to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise dredging crews, shift operations, and support personnel, ensuring compliance with company procedures and project requirements.
  • Monitor cutter performance, dredge pumps, swing systems, spud operations, and discharge pipelines to maximize production.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Vessel Master, Chief Engineer, Survey Team, and Client representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Analyze dredging data, production reports, and survey information to optimize dredging performance and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct daily operational meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to promote a strong safety culture onboard.
  • Ensure all dredging operations are carried out in accordance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response procedures.
  • Supervise mobilization, demobilization, pipeline installation, anchor handling, and relocation of dredging equipment.
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the Engineering Department.
  • Mentor and develop Dredge Masters, Shift Supervisors, and operational personnel to enhance technical competency and leadership capability.
  • Prepare and review daily production reports, operational logs, equipment performance reports, and project documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, port authorities, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and ensure the safe and timely completion of dredging projects.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Basic & advanced STCW training certification.
  • 5-10 Years rank experience on Heavy Duty Cutter Suction Dredger.
