Sr D365 Finance & Operations Techno-Functional Consultant

Role Overview

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience in cloud environments is mandatory.
• Proven techno-functional ownership beyond pure development or functional consulting is mandatory.
• Strong Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services platform management experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience with on-premise or self-hosted D365 environments is mandatory.
• Strong release and deployment management experience is mandatory.
• Strong X++ development and debugging expertise is mandatory.
• Experience with Azure DevOps repositories, builds, pipelines, and releases is mandatory.
• A solid understanding of D365 F&O architecture and its security framework is mandatory.

D365 F&O Ownership

• Own techno-functional delivery across core D365 F&O finance modules, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and budgeting.
• Support supply chain and operations modules, including procurement, inventory, sales, and production as applicable.
• Support multi-company and multi-legal-entity implementations.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable D365 solutions.
• Design and deliver X++ extensions, reports, workflows, batch jobs, integrations, and SSRS reporting.
• Provide L1, L2, and L3 production support with root-cause analysis.
• Ensure changes comply with Microsoft upgrade-safe architecture.

LCS and Platform Governance

• Own Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services and monitor environment health, diagnostics, performance, and issue searches.
• Maintain LCS assets, methodology, and environment metadata.
• Coordinate Microsoft support cases and escalations when required.
• Ensure alignment with Microsoft servicing cadence and One Version updates.

Environment Management

• Manage and support on-premise or self-hosted development environments.
• Provision and maintain environments, build pipelines, deployable packages, and model or package management.
• Coordinate database refreshes between environments.
• Maintain Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environment segregation and stability.
• Work with infrastructure, security, and IT operations teams.
• Use VSTS environments, which the source identifies as a must-have area of knowledge.

Release and Deployment

• Own deployment and release management for D365 F&O.
• Plan, test, and execute One Version updates, hotfixes, regulatory patches, and custom code deployments.
• Perform impact analysis of Microsoft release notes.
• Coordinate UAT, regression testing, and deployment sign-offs.
• Maintain rollback strategies and business continuity during releases.

Compliance and Controls

• Ensure ERP processes comply with local regulatory requirements, including VAT and ZATCA where applicable.
• Enforce code review, version control, segregation of duties, and controlled production access.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
• Support audits and management reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with UAE or GCC-based organizations is a strong advantage.
• Exposure to VAT or ZATCA, financial controls, and audit-heavy environments is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, contracting, trading, or multi-subsidiary environments is preferred.
• Microsoft certifications in D365 Finance or Supply Chain are preferred.
• Experience working with external ISVs or Microsoft partners is preferred.
• The role requires ownership, accountability, clear communication, structured production-issue handling, and cross-cultural collaboration.
