We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Senior Counsellor to strengthen our admissions and student counselling team.
Job Summary
The Senior Counsellor will be responsible for counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their academic and career goals, recommending suitable courses, managing leads, driving admissions, and ensuring a positive student experience.
The candidate should have strong communication, counselling, persuasion, follow-up, and relationship-management skills, along with a proven ability to achieve admission or conversion targets.
Key Responsibilitiesstudent & Parent Counselling
- Conduct one-to-one counselling sessions with prospective students and parents.
- Understand students' academic background, career aspirations, and preparation requirements.
- Explain IAS/UPSC courses, batches, programs, schedules, fees, facilities, and admission procedures.
- Provide accurate and professional guidance regarding suitable programs.
- Address student and parent queries, concerns, and objections effectively.
- Build trust and maintain strong relationships with prospective and enrolled students.
Admissions & Lead Conversion
- Handle inbound enquiries, outbound calls, walk-ins, and counselling appointments.
- Follow up consistently with prospective students through calls, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
- Convert qualified leads into confirmed admissions.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospective students.
- Achieve assigned weekly and monthly admission/conversion targets.
- Identify reasons for non-conversion and develop appropriate follow-up strategies.
- Coordinate with the admissions and academic teams to ensure a smooth enrolment process.
Team Support & Senior-Level Responsibilities
- Guide and support junior counsellors in handling student enquiries.
- Share effective counselling and conversion techniques with team members.
- Monitor follow-up quality and ensure leads are handled within the required timelines.
- Assist the reporting manager in tracking counselling-team performance.
- Help identify gaps in the admissions process and suggest improvements.
- Support the team during admission drives, seminars, workshops, and promotional events.
Reporting & Crm Management
- Maintain accurate records of leads, calls, counselling sessions, follow-ups, and admissions.
- Update CRM/Excel databases regularly.
- Prepare daily and weekly counselling reports.
- Track lead sources, conversion rates, pending follow-ups, and admission status.
- Provide management with relevant feedback regarding student requirements and market response.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline is preferred.
- Master's degree/MBA/PGDM will be an added advantage.
Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in any of the following areas is preferred:
- Student/Academic Counselling
- Admission Counselling
• Education And EdTech
- Coaching Institutes
- Inside Sales
- Educational Sales
- Career Counselling
- Business Development
Candidates with a proven track record of admission conversions and target achievement will be given preference.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should:
- Have experience handling students and parents.
- Be confident in face-to-face and telephone counselling.
- Understand the education/admissions sales process.
- Have strong persuasion and closing abilities.
- Be comfortable working with monthly admission targets.
- Have the ability to independently manage leads from enquiry to admission.
- Demonstrate professionalism, maturity, and ownership.
- Be willing to take responsibility for supporting junior counsellors.
