The Sr.
Core Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing solar equipment to support TERREPOWER’s trading and lifecycle operations.
This role focuses on identifying supply opportunities, securing competitive pricing, and building strong vendor partnerships across both new and secondary markets.
Position Summary

Core Buyer plays a key role in procuring solar equipment—including new and used solar panels, inverters, and related components—to support TERREPOWER’s trading and lifecycle business.
This position requires a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying supply opportunities across both traditional and non-traditional channels.

Core Buyer is responsible for developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring a consistent and reliable supply in a fast-paced, dynamic marketplace.
The role collaborates closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business goals and market conditions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to procure solar equipment for trading and lifecycle operations
Proactively identify and pursue supply opportunities across new, used, surplus, and secondary markets, demonstrating a strong focus on results and continuous pipeline growth
- Source and purchase solar panels, inverters, and related equipment (both new and used)
- Build, develop, and maintain strong supplier relationships, including expanding the vendor base
- Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure competitive supply agreements
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process including requisitions, purchase orders, and order tracking
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery through proactive follow-up
- Maintain accurate pricing, purchasing, and supplier data within ERP systems
- Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving and sourcing opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and finance to align procurement with demand
- Ensure inventory levels align with business needs through planning and analysis
- Maintain data accuracy including item setup, attributes, and transaction records
- Assist in resolving supplier issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with TERREPOWER procurement policies and procedures
Work Environment
This position is primarily based in an office environment, with regular on-site attendance in Houston, TX.
Ability to travel occasionally (e.g., tradeshows) as required by business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results
- Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in solar, renewable energy, or equipment trading industries
- Experience sourcing both new and used equipment in secondary or non-traditional markets
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle and NetSuite
- Strong understanding of market-based purchasing and pricing dynamics
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPPB, or similar
