Role Overview
The role is responsible for ensuring assigned commissioning tasks are properly implemented according to work standards and procedures.
The engineer reports to the Commissioning Team Leader and works with project, pre-commissioning, company, vendor, and other discipline personnel.
Commissioning Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed testing reports and documentation for completed testing.
- Organize and perform instrument commissioning, SAT, loop tests, and functional tests.
- Work with APC, DCS, PLC, and ESD control systems.
- Apply control strategies including PI, PID, cascade, split-range control, and alarm management.
- Use control narratives, cause-and-effect diagrams, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and logic block diagrams.
- Prepare testing procedures, method statements, procedures, and commissioning routines.
- Lead commissioning activities for small projects and interface with other disciplines.
- Implement and test subsystems according to project commissioning test sheets.
- Report progress, identify potential problems or delays, and recommend solutions.
- Plan and monitor vendor activities, commissioning supplies, databases, and inter-discipline checks.
