Role overview
Ensure assigned commissioning tasks are properly implemented according to work standards and procedures.
Lead commissioning activities for telecom systems on oil and gas projects.
Commissioning responsibilities
- Identify design failures and discrepancies.
- Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for PAGA, RADAR, RFID, UHF/VHF radios, telephones, and other telecom systems.
- Inspect systems for operational readiness and conduct line walks, equipment internals inspections, and vendor package readiness checks.
- Attend P&ID, HAZOP, and HAZID reviews and provide technical input.
- Prepare plans, method statements, procedures, routines, and activity markups.
- Lead commissioning teams and interface with other disciplines to integrate project activities.
- Undertake functional, operational, and inter-discipline checks for telecom systems.
- Identify required test equipment and ensure testing equipment is safe and operational before use.
- Monitor vendor activities and ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate.
- Assist with pre-commissioning status indexes and commissioning technical databases.
- Report progress, highlight potential problems or delays, and recommend solutions.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards.
